We’re on a mission to combat one of the biggest pollutants on the planet: electronic waste. The improper disposal of our personal electronics can cause disastrous effects on the environment due to hazardous chemicals such as arsenic, lead, and mercury. We offer everyone a safe, rewarding way to sell or properly recycle these old devices, creating a lasting positive impact on our environment.
As of 2020, ecoATM has collected over 25 million devices, equating to over 6.25 million pounds of e-waste!
At ecoATM, we not only believe in making a global impact, but also a profound local one. Rumie Initiative
ecoATM partnered with Rumie, a non-profit based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, dedicated to removing barriers for learning in underserved communities around the world. Together, we collected devices that were sent to Afghanistan to help young girls gain access to educational resources through the Rumie app on these devices.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation
ecoATM provided a charitable donation to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park (NHP) in Atlanta, Georgia, in celebration of Black History month and in recognition of our Atlanta customers.
Ecologi
ecoATM became the first US company to plant trees in return for old cell phones, as part of a new collaboration with Ecologi. We partnered with Ecologi to plant trees for every phone traded-in during our 66 Days campaign, focused on creating planet positive habits to protect the environment. ecoATM’s forest in Madagascar has grown to 16,404 trees to date! Company Volunteer Opportunities
Our mission to create a healthier planet doesn’t end with the proper recycling of cellphones – it continues with our own ecoATM family. We offer opportunities for our employees to grow together through local volunteering events to help make a positive change in our communities. Our past events have included work with Habitat for Humanity and a locally organized beach cleanup.
Matching Gifts Program
We believe in supporting our employees’ acts of giving and the organizations that inspire them. With our Matching Gifts Program, we match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $500 per year for each employee.
