How do I know if my tablet is WiFi only or has cellular?
Whether your tablet is able to connect to a cellular network affects its value. Here's how to check so you get the right price.
Method 1: Look for a SIM card slot
The fastest way to tell is to check the sides of your tablet. Cellular tablets have a small SIM card tray, usually on the right side or top edge. If you don't see one, your tablet is WiFi only.
Method 2: Check your tablet's settings
For iPad:
- Go to Settings. If you see a Cellular Data option in the left-hand menu, your tablet has cellular capability.
- If you don't see Cellular Data, your tablet is WiFi only.
For Android tablet:
- Go to Settings, then Connections or Network & Internet.
- If you see Mobile Networks, SIM card manager, or Cellular, your tablet has cellular capability.
- If none of those appear, your tablet is WiFi only.
