The New Galaxy S22 and S22+

The long-awaited Galaxy S22 and larger Galaxy S22+ made a splash this morning, starting with a humorous Bridgerton skit (queue some shade at Apple with Lord Macintosh and his raincoat). Both phones feature a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Galaxy S22 measuring 6.1” and Galaxy S22+ measuring 6.6”. The new display brings a promising Vision Booster addition that makes viewing the screen in direct sunlight easier on the eyes. Both models also include a 4nm Processor, Samsung’s fastest processor to date.

For the photophiles, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ feature a decent camera upgrade with Nightography technology. Samsung claims brighter and more defined nighttime portraits for both still photos and shooting video, which can be expected across most camera apps with both devices. OIS and VDIS promise better image stabilization with 58% wider correction angle and 4X more motion data.

We can expect to see the Galaxy S22 and S22+ in four colors in Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green and Pink Gold. Additionally, these new models are supposedly the most durable Galaxy phones yet with Armor Aluminum casing and Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus®+

Preorders have begun for both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22+ with in-store availability and shipping to begin Februay 25th. The Galaxy S22 starts at $799.99 and the Galaxy S22+ starts at $999.99.

The New Galaxy S22 Ultra

A promising follow-up to the Galaxy Note, the new Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have the best camera, performance and connectivity ever on a Galaxy Smartphone. This model features a 6.8” Quad HD+ Edge Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that includes the same Vision Booster tech as the S22 and S22+ models. The major excitement surrounding the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the included S Pen which is a new addition to Samsung’s S series devices. The S Pen is said to deliver a much smoother experience with better predictability to provide a closer resemblance to writing on actual paper.

The battery on the Galaxy S22 Ultra is another great upgrade with enhanced battery life and 45W Super Fast charging. There’s also increased optical zoom for photo and video, included editing tools with the Expert RAW app, Samsung’s Knox Vault security platform for more advanced security and privacy measures, and the all-new Samsung Wallet.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available in four colors – Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green and the new S22 Ultra color, Burgundy. Preorders have begun with this model starting at $1,199.99 beginning February 25th.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Series

The Samsung Unpacked Event delivered more than the popular smartphone series as they also revealed three brand new tablets with their Galaxy Tab S8 series. These tablets have the thinnest and largest displays from Samsung yet and are labeled as the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series feature the same mighty casing as the S22 smartphones, along with the S Pen of the S22 Ultra. Each tablet has 4K video recording for higher quality video chatting and video shooting, along with professional editing tools and better sharing capabilities. Each display features a 120Hz refresh rate for smoothing scrolling with an 11” display for the S8, a 12.4” display for the S8+ and a 14.6 display for the S8 Ultra. Each tablet also houses the same 4nm processor as the new smartphones to provide optimal performance and speed.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is available for preorder in a Graphite color starting at $1,099.99 and the S8+ and S8 are available in Graphite, Pink Gold and Silver starting at $699.99.

Galaxy for The Planet

Announced back in August 2021, Samsung’s Galaxy for the Planet initiative continues with several advancements towards a greener future. They have ensured all new devices are built with recycled materials, less plastic in the product packaging and actively work towards achieving zero waste in landfills. They mentioned the use of ocean-bound plastics in the Samsung S22 line along with a re-engineered life expectancy to limit the environmental impact of their product lifecycles. This means that devices will hopefully last longer and limit the need to continuously buy new phones.
