Tariq Khamisa Foundation

ecoATM has partnered wth the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) in San Diego which is dedicated to preventing youth violence and keeping kids out of gangs. TKF has a number of outreach programs targeting at-risk youths and communities. Among them is Hope Works. The Hope Works Mentoring Program is an AmeriCorps Gang Prevention Pilot Project designed to reduce gang involvement and community violence. The project targets at-risk youths referred by teachers, counselors, law enforcement, community organizations, and parents. Americorps members conduct home visits, school advocacy, educational assistance, violence prevention curriculum, recreational activities, community service, family advocacy, life skills workshops, crisis intervention, and referral assistance.

ecoATM has partnered with TKF to provide mobile phones for the Hope Works Mentors so they can communicate with at-risk youths and the home office. ecoATM is also dedicated as a financial sponsor to TKF and will make a small donation for every phone, working or not, that we collect.
