ecoATM - Technologists solving the eWaste problem
We helped create the problem and now we are going to help fix it. ecoATM was founded by technologists setting out to engineer a solution to the eWaste crisis. The mantra of smaller, better, faster has created an explosive turnover rate of consumer electronics and handsets. The results are huge volumes of used devices landing in drawers and landfills around the globe. The existing methods of cardboard boxes, blue bins and online mail-in websites are making only the slightest dent in the ever growing amount of eWaste. The right solution would need to ensure that devices are utilized to the end of their useful life and then pulled apart in an environmentally friendly way with re-mining all metals and re-use all of the material. This right solution would require a fundamental change to the behavior of all the parties involved.
The challenge is to create a solution that benefits everyone involved; the consumer, the OEM and the retailer. The ecoATM team has applied advanced technology toward solving this problem and the result is the Automated eCycling Station. ecoATM's Automated eCycling Station is transforming the eWaste industry by providing the ultimate solution to maximize device and material re-use to the benefit of consumers, OEM's, retailers and, most importantly, the environment.
We are headquartered in San Diego, CA.
